ENGLISH LANGUAGE CHALLENGES

Hello everyone! This is the last Blog!  For this reason today, I will to write about my experience learning English at this University.

Well, really I have never been good for English, In the School It was not my favorite subject, I never studied too hard, maybe for this reason I started studying English at the basic level at University or “starter”.  This is my fourth course of English at the university, although I feel that even I find it hard, I feel that I have learned very much in this time, because actually I have more clarity in the use of verbs and times. I think “the blogs” have served me much for practice the language, because I had to prepare texts with different times and expressions that didn’t know, and I have known, also the blogs I have served me for elaborate more phrases and to express  better about topics of interest to me.

I think I should study more hard English, because often I confuse the times… is very important for the course and for me to learn well this aspect. In this weeks I will practice in internet, exist very pages with of this type exercises. Also I think I should practice the grammar and the speaking, because my pronunciation not is the best.

For the University, and the life is very important to learn English, because many important texts of sociology are in English, and, because as said Pepe Mujica “the English, it a language with that the Chinese communicate with the world”

CHANGES TO MY STUDY PROGRAMME

Hello everyone! Today I am going to write about the changes to my study programme.

I’m student of sociology career at the University of Chile. This career is very interesting and, personally, I like very much… but, I think it is necessary things change the study programme to improve.

Thinking about some changes that could be made to my study programme, I can’t help thinking of the infrastructure. Often, the students and the teachers have problems with classrooms and schedule, because there is not enough room for everyone in the faculty. Although, the infrastructure it’s not essential, it`s very important for the development of classes and our studies. Also, our faculty has no canteen.

Another aspect of my study programme that I would like change, is the curriculum in relation to the thesis. The thesis is very important in the career, because allows graduate, but the students need take time to complete the investigation. I think necessary that we can begin the thesis in fourth year, to graduate in fifth year. Also, I think necessary to introduce more courses of social research methodology because I think it’s fundamental to our professional development. As well, I would like include more use of technology; I refer to use google drive or another platform to facilitate teamwork and the investigations.

In general, I agree with the duration of the career and the teaching methods used by teachers. 

I believe that any change must be for the better!

Winter Holidays

Hello everyone! Today I will write about The Winter Holidays.

Well, some a days ago I have thought a lot in the next holydays, but because of strike, I don’t believe we have holidays, at least not in winter. Whatever, if I have winter holidays, probably I would like do many things.

Considering a possible holidays, I would like visit my dad a few days. He lives in San Antonio city, for this reason I don’t visit often.

Also, I would like read a book that I bought a few weeks ago, and I could not read yet, because I had to study very hard. I would like to have time for my, to do what I like, for example I wanted visit the “Memorial Museum” or “El Museo de la Memoria y los Derechos Humanos” in Spanish, always I wanted to go for many reasons very important for me, but for one thing or another I could go even, despite living close.  As well, I would like go to some restaurant with my boyfriend and friends I have heard of many very entertaining places that would like to know. Besides, I would like take a course in yoga, some time ago I do not exercise, and I think it would be good for my health and I like do new things.

Well, I don`t know I do not know if I will have winter holidays , but if I have, I think that They should make the most!.

Pets and Animal Rights

I like very much the animals in general, but I don’t thinking in myself, as an animal lover. 
When I was child, I had many pets, because I lived in a big house whit a big garden. 
I remember that have a little dog, it name was “Chapulìn”, had also many cats, dogs,  
and birds… I think they were quails. My childhood always was full of animals.  

Actually I have a pet, it’s a little cat. Really, I don’t know what would do without my
pet.  

Even though I
like dogs, my favorite animal it`s Cats. The reason for believe that this
little animal are the best pet, is simply, because are cats.  I don’t need more reasons.

I don’t know someone who
owns an unusual pet, but I remember that my best Friend spoke about their
desire to have a ferret.

I disagree with the use of animals for medical
research, I think that the life of animals it’s important and I think that we
must respect. The humans should have more empathy with the animal pain. For this
reason, I disagree with to keep wild animals in a zoo, and with the people who
buy fur coats.

I have never been bitten by a dog, but I think this not a
valid reason to mistreat.

I believe that animals
are noble beings, and we must take care.

POSTGRADUATE STUDIES

 Actually, I don't think about a postgraduate course, because first, I hope approve undergraduate... But, thinking in the future, I will like do a course of postgraduate about gender, or the body in the social sciences.

 Interest me these areas, because I have always wanted to learn more about the evolution of the conceptions of gender in the different societies, and about the negation of the study of the body in the social sciences development, because It not address the issue much in this University.

As I have not thought seriously, I don’t know options real’s to study a postgraduate course. I will like study in other country, but I don’t have idea of how much it costs and the difficults… But, I think anywhere place or countries for learn is good.

I will like study part-time course, because I will like have time for work or do other things, nevertheless, I think it`s important go to the face classes (I believe  more listening the teacher). For this reason, I don’t take an online course.   

I hope can study a postgraduate course someday, but my principal preoccupation in this moment of my life is finished my actually studies. Nevertheless, I always thought that I should study life, because is good for me and the other people. I believe what the Social Sciences can  contribute to society. 

The Books Of My Life

I like very much read, maybe this is the reason why I chose a career where I have that read too much. I have say... Worth! In my childhood, remember I liked read stories of adventures, fantasy, love, princesses... I read more books requested, and the teacher congratulated me that this reason. 

I don't know how many books I read in my life… but, I remember that when I was child I read “The little prince” or “El principito” in Spanish. This Book left its mark on my, because is a special story about the childhood and what one loses to grow. When I was child I liked because I felt identified with “The little prince”, today I like because I  believe that the little prince it’s a book that reminds the important things in life. 

Usually, I like read all kinds of books, nevertheless, my favorite book is “Cien años de soledad” or, “One Hundred Years of Solitude” in English. This book, across an exciting story, it shows the culture and history of Latinoamèrica. The author of the book is Gabriel Garcia Marquez, my favorite writer, He is Colombian, and much to my chagrin, died in 2014. 

In general, I like very much the Latin literature, I love the poetry of Mario Benedetti, and the stories of Julio Cortazar, Pedro Lemebel, Eduardo Galeano, among others. 

Movies

I really like to watch movies of all kinds. I love going de cinema with my friends or, sometimes, I like go alone... I think there ir a movie for every occasion. The last movie I saw was "Civil Ward". This movie had good review… In my personal opinion it  is not a bad movie, but it's not the best movie this year.

My fauvorite all-time movie  is "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" (2004) or “El Eterno Resplandor de una Mente sin Recuerdos” in Spanish. This movie is a love story in which the protagonist undergoes a treatment to forget about their relationship, Nevertheless, the process of erasing his mind it makes them to remember why they loved. The interesting thing of this movie  is that it is  happening inside their minds, generating a psicologal game very entertaining to watch.  I like this film because because you can connect with the emotions of the characters. I  don’t remember how many times I've seen, but I would recommend it one million times more!

A film that I want to see again is “Underground” of the Emir Kusturica (I said I like all kinds movies) because in my opinion it’s a beautiful artwork. 

My The Best Holidays!

The holidays is a very good opportunity for rest and -when to can- traveling! In my personal opinion,   traveling is one of the best experiencies of life, because you can expand your mind across new experiencies, new people, new landscapes and new cultures different  from ours ...

The last holidays, in early March, I went to Perú! It  was a amazing experience! Although it was just a one week, I could see beautiful places and I met nice people. I went with my boyfriend and ones friends. We travel in plane until Arica and from there We take a bus  from Perú. I was in Tacna, Arequipa, Cuzco, Machuppichu and Puno.  In Cuzco City, I ate tipical food and I saw colonial churches,  from there We take a bus until the "Aguas Calientes" from where We had to walk two hours to Machuppichu. The next day, We go up the mountain, We could see the ruins of the city, and the guide told us the history of the Machuppichu.

This Travel is the best holidays because, although We didn't have a lot of money,  I lived amazing experiencies, I was in wonderful places, and stayed with lovely people!

A Country I Would Like To Visit

When I think of the world it's complicated for me to imagine all the places I would like to see... The world is very big!... But, theres a place in particular that catches my attention, it's not exactly in a country,  but rather between Argentina and Brazil... I mean " Cataratas de Iguazú": or Iguazù falls. 

I don't know much about the place, but I know it's one of the  wonders of the world! whatever, I think it`s better to see with your owns eyes and enjoy the travel. 

 I would like to do trekking in the typical routes, to take pictures of the waterfalls, to know about the flora and fauna... and to learn somethings about it`s history... Nevertheless I don`t wouldn't live in Argenntina or Brazil. These beautiful countries are not compared whith the feeling of living at house... The beauty of travelling is to have a place where to return .

I'll try to go soon...I hope I can someday!
